Dear Friends of the Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum at the deWitt Cottage,
I hope my letter today finds you healthy and happy as we enter December. This time of year is so magical, as we gather to celebrate our families, friends, and communities. My warmest wishes to you over the holiday season.
Your support and generosity over the last year has allowed us to continue moving forward even during a very difficult time. Through memberships, donations, gifts, volunteer hours, and more, we have established ourselves as a premiere year-round destination in the heart of Virginia Beach. We offer visitors, renters, and others a glimpse into the past, while also celebrating the present, and looking ahead to the future. In the last year we have:
- Seen one of our busiest summers in recent years. Visitors were up. Donations were up. Sales in our gift shop were up.
- Become a premiere wedding and special events venue for Coastal Virginia. We have been featured on local news, as well as magazines and other publications.
- Honored service men and women through our Salute To Heroes wedding giveaway, which will continue for the future.
- Enhanced our online presence through revitalized social media platforms.
I am also excited to announce that we have finally obtained our much awaited building permit for our gazebo project and will break ground before the month ends.
All of this continues to be possible through your generosity. Your financial contributions are the driving force in our continued success. As we look towards the end of the year, I ask that you consider making a contribution to our wonderful cottage.
