1st de Witt Cottage Annual Auction – November 1, 2008 – 6:00pm
Location: Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church

The 2008 auction featured 158 items for silent auction, three raffle items which included a beautiful hand-embroidered quilt made by Carolyn Burns (won by Donna Grigolite), a $300 gasoline card from WaWa (won by Charlie Seidel) and gift certificate from Moonrise Bay Vineyard that included a tour & wine tasting for two and 12 bottles of wine (won by Jamie Champe) and finally a live auction, led by Tom Perry, VA.A.R. 1045, featuring 64 items.
The entertainment was provided by: pianist, Rachel Bradshaw, Back Bay Wildfowl Guild carvers; Elaine Polizos, Gentry Childress, Spencer Tinkham, Ed Morrison & Jackie Bergstresser and artist demonstration by Bev Abbott.
Food and beverage were provided by: Unkol Chuck’s, Hoffman’s Beverage, WaWa and members of the Back Bay Wildfowl Guild.

Back Bay Wildfowl Guild is a registered 501 (c3) non-profit organization
All proceeds from the donations, sponsorship and auction went directly to support the Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum and will enable the Museum to continue to provide an informative and educational experience to all visiting the oldest building on the oceanfront preserving the history of early Virginia Beach and wildfowling in the area through displays of: antique decoys, contemporary carvings and wildfowl art.
